Humble Pie Kitchen (Bakery, 77 King), visited June 6, the day after friends raved about their New Zealand-style savoury pies. Chicken Bacon Alfredo and BBQ Pulled Pork weren’t our first choices, but they were the only ones available and we gave them a shot. No regrets. Pork needed a bit more sauce, but was very good. Alfredo was on point. A bit pricey, but well worth the trip to the Darkside. Verdict: 4/5 (80%) chance of returning
24 Carrots Bakery (Bakery, 3200 Kempt), visited June 6. Very reasonably priced and everything was good. The Carrot Cupcake was a bit better than the Carrot Square due to the nuts and the ratio of cream cheese icing, but both were lovely. The Cheese Croissant was the closest you’ll get to Paris in Halifax. The Peanut Butter Bar was good, but it was very dense and oily. Verdict: 5/5 (100%) chance of returning
