Beaver Bank Station

Beaver Bank Station (Pub, 991 Windgate), visited October 4. A sign outside claims it’s the world’s friendliest pub. Sometimes, perhaps, but not on that day. The server was run off her feet and had no time for pleasantries, and was told off by several other patrons due to the slow service. As for the food, they again claimed to have the best fries in the world. They were ok, but it would be more accurate to say they’re the best fries available in a former train station in Beaverbank. The fish & chips were just okay and the Station Burger was pretty good, but something was going on with the bacon – it tasted deep fried, but…wasn’t. Verdict: 3/5 (60%) chance of returning.
