Station Six (Pub, 247 Herring Cove), visited July 8. The Firehouse Chicken Burger was, in a word, huge! It was also served with an enormous mound of thick cut fries. A slab of bacon on the burger was all fat, but when brought to the server’s attention, she brought out an even bigger pile of bacon within seconds. The Baked Mac & Cheese was ok, but not spectacular. Verdict: 3.5 (70%) chance of returning.

The Dairy Bar
The Dairy Bar (Deserterie, 5688 Spring Garden), visited July
1. We miss the old downtown DQ, so the presence of The Dairy Bar just a few
steps away takes away some of the sting. The Maple Vanilla Twist ice cream was
very sweet, but tasty. The Salted Caramel Crunch Sundae was coated in a
delicious cereal, and was a fabulous choice. Verdict: 4/5 (80%) chance of returning.

Metro Pizza
Metro Pizza (Pizza, 6021 Lady Hammond), visited July 1. This slice had obviously been sitting around for a while – it was lukewarm when served, which is too bad because it was probably a lot better when it was fresh. It was a good size and there was a good amount of cheese and toppings, but it just didn’t withstand the test of time. Verdict: 2.5/5 (50%) chance of returning.

The Big Wedge
The Big Wedge (Pizza, 5553 Duffus), visited July 1. A slice of pepperoni and bacon slid right out of the oven and into our mouths. The crust had a great flavour and crunch, there was a very good amount of cheese and toppings, and it was a very satisfying slice overall. Verdict: 4.5/5 (90%) chance of returning.

Shadia's Pizza
Shadia’s Pizza (Pizza, 2764 Gottingen), visited June 26. Simply put, this is the kind of slice you might crave after you’ve had a night out on the town. Our slice was big and cheap, but not particularly good. However, the staff was very pleasant. Verdict: 2/5 (40%) chance of returning
