The Cannery (Casual Dining, 1980 Robie), visited May 6. A Canadian Whisky & Beer Burger as on the menu for Burger Bash. Although it didn’t taste particularly boozy, the BBQ sauce was delightful, the onion rings were great, and the whole thing was just a great production. And for $8, it was incredible value. Verdict: 4.5/5 (90%) chance of returning.
East of Grafton (Casual Dining, 1580 Argyle), visited March 27. We stopped by at the tail end of the extended Dine Around to try a few of their specials. The Chicken Sliders were dainty and delicious. The Cheddar Pierogies surprised us with hot sauce, but it really worked. Swapping out the sour cream for ranch would have been a game changer. The (half-price) Nachos were good, but we were surprised by the lack of tomato. The pickled artichoke was a nice touch, and the taco dip was enjoyable. Verdict: 4.5/5 (90%) chance of returning.
Millstone Public House (Casual Dining, 67 King's Wharf), visited October 23. We wanted to try one more Burger Week offering, and Millstone’s Pump Up The Jam fit the bill. A chorizo AND beef patty? Yes please! We were a little unsure about the blueberry bacon jam, but it totally worked. We also added a side of Pulled Pork Wontons, which we DEFINITELY recommend! Verdict: 4.5/5 (90%) chance of returning.
