Road Trip: Bistro East

Bistro East (Bistro, 274 St George, Annapolis Royal), visited August 8. We enjoyed a good Caesar salad, followed by an inspired Hawaiian pizza – including red & green peppers AND bacon accompanying the traditional smoked ham and pineapple. The crust was soft but not overly doughy, and the sauce was pleasantly sweet. A charming spot with great service. Verdict: 5/5 (100%) chance of returning.

Full Disclosure: One of us is related to someone who works there, but they didn't know we were there and they probably couldn't pick us out of a police lineup, anyway. We promise, this is an honest account of our experience!

Road Trip: The Naked Crepe Bistro

The Naked Crepe Bistro (Bistro, 406 Main, Wolfville), visited August 8. J tends to shy away from bistros – based on past experience, they often result in small portions and high prices. Not so at The Naked Crepe. J couldn’t resist the Royale with Cheese – essentially a Quarter Pounder with Cheese stuffed into a crepe – genius, filling and delicious! M went for the more traditional Egg and Ham, which was also very good. We capped off our visit with a S’Mores dessert crepe that haunted our dreams. We left very happy, without needing to take out a bank loan. The server, Alex, was also fantastic. Verdict: 5/5 (100%) chance of returning.
